Advantages of the Pixel 6 vs the Phone 12!!

If you are looking for a new smartphone, you might be wondering whether to choose the pixel or the Phone 12. Both devices have their pros and cons, but in this blog post, we will focus on the advantages of the pixel over its competitor.

Here are some of the reasons why you might prefer the pixel:

  • Camera quality: The pixel has a 12.2 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera, both with optical image stabilization and HDR+ technology. The iPhone 12 has a 12 MP rear camera and a 7 MP front camera, both with optical image stabilization but no HDR+. The pixel’s camera produces sharper and more realistic photos, especially in low-light conditions. The pixel also has a Night Sight mode that can capture stunning images in the dark without using flash.
  • Battery life: The pixel has a 3140 mAh battery that can last up to 24 hours of mixed usage. The iPhone 12 has a 2815 mAh battery that can last up to 17 hours of mixed usage. The pixel also supports fast charging and wireless charging, while the Phone 12 only supports fast charging.
  • Display: The pixel has a 5.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The Phone 12 has a 6.1-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2532 x 1170 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The pixel’s display is more vibrant, crisp and smooth than the Phone’s display.
  • Software: The pixel runs on the latest Android OS, which gives you more customization options and access to Google’s services and apps. The iPhone runs on iOS OS, which is more restrictive and dependent on Apple’s ecosystem. Android also receives more frequent updates than iOS.

These are some of the advantages of the pixel over the Phone 12. Of course, there are other factors to consider when choosing a smartphone, such as price, design, performance and personal preference. But if you value camera quality, battery life, display and software flexibility over other features, then you might want to give the pixel a try.

Ultimately you buy what you think will best for your use-case. If you have deep pockets you can buy both and have the best of both worlds!!

MOVADO MEETS HP

Well a while back we heard that HP had Engineered a watch with Movado(Not the singer).

Movado has been Synonymous with artistry, innovation and craftsmanship, Movado has been dedicated to pushing the boundaries of modern design and elevating the art of fine watchmaking to a fine art form since its founding in Switzerland in 1881.

According to HP,the Engineered by HP means that its  is infusing innovative materials, design and custom technology into the style of the devices you love, to make them more connected and responsive to the way you live. The Watch Works with both iOS (8+) and Android (4.4+). Exceptional performance with up to one week of battery life for smart functions. A beautiful water-resistant watch that’s always on.

Well now they have two designs out, namely t the MOVADO BOLD MOTION BLACK/STRAP and    shown Below.

HOW TO OPERATE THE WATCH

The Movado BOLD Motion has a button (1) on the left side of the case that controls the watch functions. Press it once to change the watch view. The views display in the following order: analog, progress tracker status, digital battery status, Bluetooth status. Analog view is displayed by default, and the watch returns to analog view after five seconds of inactivity.

The crown (2) is located on the right side of the case and is used only to set the time.

SETTING THE TIME

  • Gently pull the crown button on the Right hand side out to position (2); the seconds hand stops moving.
  • 2.Rotate the crown in either direction to move the hour and minute hands to the desired time.
  • 3.Push the crown back into position (1); the seconds hand restarts.

For the folks who want technical details these are listed below,Sorry ladies seems that there is not a Women’s Version yet:

movado details.

The Movado Watch does contain   two batteries. One battery controls the digital functions of the watch and can be recharged. The other battery controls the analog functions of the watch and is not rechargeable, which is a bummer. The  Replacement of either battery—for the analog or the digital functions—requires service from a Movado Authorized Service Center. For locations, visitwww.mgiservice.com/movado.  Before you set up the watch, charge it for at least two hours. When the battery that controls digital functions is fully charged, it should last five to seven days with minimal use. That is  amazing but the use of minimal use is always relative  to each user and i always take it with a grain of Salt.I do not have a watch to test so cannot give you an accurate answer.

The Final Piece is the BOLD App(currently at version 1.1) that you download either from Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store.Movado states that should work on devices with 4.4 and upwards or IOS 8 or higher.

The custom USB Charger prices at 19.95 USD  which is cheap considering that Both Watches are currently   Priced at 695 USD,which in my opinion is going to have a hard time selling on the market  when the Huawei Watch Black stainless steel goes for 449 USD currently and have Proper Smart Watches retailing for about 150.00 USD.

Warranty is a limited 2 Year warranty, that anyone ought to read if and when you decide to Purchase one.

Would an IPhone User Ever switch to Samsung?

Well,it seems the folks at Samsung have come up with brilliant Marketing strategy where you:

  1. Have to have an Iphone.
  2. Apply for the Program on an Iphone.
  3. It will cost you usd 1.00,which of course is the Processing Fee.
  4. Have to be 18.
  5. Have to Have an Active Data Wireless Plan.

Samsung will send iPhone users who sign up either a Galaxy S6 Edge, Edge+, or Galaxy Note 5 on the carrier of choice, with an activated SIM and data plan. The company then mails the handset to the customer with a prepaid shipping box for returns.

Note that  the trial Period lasts for  30 days to use and Return said handset or you could be stuck with Full price for Handset!!

1 .Explain the main differences between VoIP service and PSTN service.

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol while PSTN stands for Public Switched Telecommunications Network.

PSTN is the same as the Plain Old Telephone Systems but a worldwide wired telephone network while VOIP uses digital data. PSTN relies on circuit switching to connect one phone to the other and the call is routed through numerous switches operating on a local, regional national or international level. These means that it sets up a dedicated channel between two points for the duration of the call and is based on copper wires carrying analog voice data. VOIP on the other hand uses packet switching telephony and takes analog signals and turn them into digital data that can be transmitted over the internet.

So the other differences are:

  • VoIP uses internet connectivity while PSTN uses a dedicated telephone line(s)
  • VoIP requires about 10 kbps in each direction due to compression, while PSTN typically requires 64 Kbps in each direction.
  • When it comes to pricing then you can get free VoIP TO VoIP calling both local and international except when calling to mobile and landlines. On the other hand there are no free calls when it comes to PSTN.
  • Service terminates when internet connectivity is lost while PSTN service usually remains active during power outages.
  • Emergency services are usually not provided by VoIP and untraceable while in PSTN emergency calling is enabled and traceable to location.
  • Remote extensions are a standard feature with VoIP while with PTSN these are at an added cost.
  • When it comes to upgrades, VoIP usually requires software upgrades and additional bandwidth compared to PTSN may involve several additions of hardware and adding lines.
  1. Can we make calls between VoIP and PSTN subscribers? If yes, explain how?

With VoIP, you use an IP network, through an ADSL or other Internet connection, to make/receive phone calls to/from PSTN landline networks. You can even talk to people with a landline phone number through your computer, for example using Skype In and Skype Out service. PSTN has phone numbers and IP networks have IP addresses, this is through address translation. Your computer or VoIP device connected to the Internet has an IP address assigned to it. When you call a person on a PSTN landline phone, your call is handed over to the PSTN network through the person’s phone number, which you dial. And vice-versa.

In VoIP, every phone number has an IP address to which it maps. Each time a device (PC, IP phone, ATA etc.) engages in a VoIP call, its IP address is translated into the phone number, which is then handed over to the PSTN network. This is analogous to the way web addresses (domain names) and email addresses are mapped to IP addresses.

In other words, What makes phone calls like this work is an extra piece of equipment known as a gateway, which acts as a bridge between the Internet (on one hand) and the PSTN (on the other). You can think of a gateway as a kind of translator that converts telephone calls in IP-format into traditional signals that ordinary phones can understand (and vice versa). It’s also involved in call signaling, so when you dial a landline from a VoIP phone, the gateway converts the call-signaling data into a formaT that the PSTN can understand (and rings the landline the old-fashioned way).
