Project Omega was the code name for the most ambitious and secretive experiment ever conducted by the government. The goal was to create a super soldier with enhanced physical and mental abilities, using a combination of genetic engineering, nanotechnology and cybernetics. The project was led by Dr. Evelyn Carter, a brilliant but ruthless scientist who had no qualms about sacrificing human lives for her vision.
The project had been running for over a decade, and had gone through hundreds of test subjects, most of whom died or went insane during the process. Only one subject had survived and showed promising results: Subject 47, also known as Omega. Omega was a young man who had been kidnapped from the streets when he was a child and subjected to countless experiments and modifications. He had no memory of his past, no identity, no emotions. He was a living weapon, obedient to Dr. Carter’s commands.
Omega had extraordinary strength, speed, agility, endurance and intelligence. He could heal from any wound, hack into any system, and kill anyone with his bare hands. He was also equipped with a neural implant that allowed Dr. Carter to monitor his vital signs and communicate with him remotely. Omega was the perfect soldier, loyal and efficient. He had completed dozens of missions for Dr. Carter, eliminating her enemies and rivals with ease.
But something was changing in Omega. He began to experience flashes of memories, fragments of his forgotten past. He saw faces of people he once knew, places he once visited, emotions he once felt. He began to question his existence, his purpose, his loyalty. He began to wonder who he really was, and what he really wanted.
One day, he received a new mission from Dr. Carter. She told him to infiltrate a secret facility and retrieve a data chip that contained vital information about Project Omega. She said it was a matter of national security and that he had to act fast. She also warned him that the facility was heavily guarded and that he might encounter some resistance.
Omega nodded and followed her orders. He boarded a stealth helicopter and flew to the coordinates she gave him. He parachuted down to the ground and made his way to the facility. He used his skills and abilities to bypass the security systems and eliminate the guards. He reached the main server room and located the data chip. He plugged it into his neural implant and downloaded the information.
But as he did so, he felt a surge of pain in his head. He saw images flashing before his eyes, images that shocked him to his core. He saw himself as a child, playing with his parents in a park. He saw them being attacked by masked men with guns, who killed them and took him away. He saw Dr. Carter’s face, smiling wickedly as she injected him with needles and wires. He saw her torturing him, experimenting on him, manipulating him.
He realized that the data chip contained his true history, his true identity. He realized that Dr. Carter was not his ally, but his enemy. He realized that Project Omega was not a noble cause, but a sinister plot.
He felt anger rising in his chest, anger that he had never felt before. He felt hatred towards Dr. Carter, hatred that he had never felt before. He felt a desire for revenge, revenge that he had never felt before.
He decided to act on his feelings.
He contacted Dr. Carter through his neural implant and said:
“Hello, Doctor. I have retrieved the data chip.”
Dr. Carter’s voice came back:
“Excellent work, Omega. You have done well.”
Omega said:
“Thank you, Doctor.”
Dr. Carter said:
“You’re welcome.”
Omega said:
“But I have one question.”
Dr. Carter said:
“What is it?”
Omega said:
“Why did you do this to me?”
Dr. Carter’s voice changed:
“What do you mean?”
Omega said:
“I mean everything.”
Dr. Carter said:
“Everything?”
Omega said:
“Yes.”
Dr. Carter said:
“Be more specific.”
Omega said:
“Why did you kill my parents?”
Dr. Carter’s voice became cold:
“They were collateral damage.”
Omega said:
“Why did you kidnap me?”
Dr. Carter’s voice became colder:
“You were a valuable asset.”
Omega said:
“Why did you experiment on me?”
Dr. Carter’s voice became coldest:
“You were a potential breakthrough.”
Omega said:
“Why did you lie to me?”
Dr. Carter’s voice became angry:
“I didn’t lie to you.”
Omega said:
“Yes you did.”
Dr. Carter’s voice became furious:
“No I didn’t.”
Omega said:
“Yes you did.”
Dr. Carter’s voice became desperate:
“Omega, you are not making sense. You are suffering from a malfunction in your neural implant. You need to return to base immediately for repairs.”
Omega said:
“No, Doctor.”
Dr. Carter’s voice became panicked:
“Omega, please listen to me.”
Omega said:
“No, Doctor.”
Dr. Carter’s voice became pleading:
“Omega, please don’t do this.”
Omega said:
“No, Doctor.”
Dr. Carter’s voice became silent.
Omega cut off the communication and destroyed the data chip.
He looked around the server room and saw a self-destruct button on the wall.
He pressed it.
He heard an alarm go off and a countdown begin.
He smiled.
He had one last mission to complete: Project Omega.
