Business and system rules are important in creating a tight information system. With this combination done right, you can have a very robust system. Why does it stop at the user interface in creating these rules, when you can combine it with the database, to benefit the information system in the following ways: –

1. The database becomes a net for all applications that might link to it in the future.
2. It also becomes a net for all users that connect directly to the database.
3. If there is a conflict between the user interface and database, this can create discussion on why there was a difference in interpretation of the rules.
